A SUNDAY LIKE ANY OTHER
The past week has been very long with working days mostly spanning from eight in the morning until ten o'clock in the evening. Project report, project lab, exams ... you name it.
Everything has come a bit "everything at once", specially the project where suddenly all the machines I need are working (after a month or so not working). Lots to catch up, lots and lots and lots ...
This means I'm not in an Advent mood at all, but I'm trying by dimming the lights in my study and look at nice Advent pictures like the one above by powi.
Additionally, I came across this great article by SINTEF Byggforsk (in Norwegian) where the research institute have analysed the building quality of Ginger-snap houses.
Soon, December is here, and a bit later Christmas is over us. I'm truly looking forward to spend more relaxing days with my family!
COUNTING SHEEP
I'm tired. Dead tired. But quite happy, considering! It's been a hard week, lots and lots of work, workout, school and other activities.
Right now I'm trying to determine the growth density of doped nanowires and it's quite boring. It's aproximately like counting sheep, they're just smaller and luckily they don't jump around. One sample to go ...
I'm looking forward to a weekend; it's packed, but the pace of everything slows down slightly.
I'm specially looking forward to Møbelringen Cup Sunday with Christina, Andreas and Ellen. The Norwegian handball ladies will play Russia (and win). It will be epic!
JULEBORD
Yesterday NTNUI Volleyball had a great Christmas party ("Julebord") at Prinsen Hotell in Trondheim.
Lots and lots of well dressed people and marvellous traditional food (ribbe) made it a great night!
GOING TO COPENHAGEN
I'm off to a weekend trip to Copenhagen. Many of my good friends from my Erasmus stay in Toulouse are coming too.
It's reunion time!
I know it's going to be great, we're going to have such a great time together - talking about the present and walking down memory lane! Excited!
THE PASSION
As a student I spend quite a lot of time at school working on my project and following my classes. It's therefore important to have an outside school activity that you enjoy and that can put your mind on something else. For me this outside activity is volleyball.
I've played lots and lots of beachvolley every summer since my first year at 6th form (high school), but I've never played "the real deal", the 6 man indoor sport.
Now I play for NTNUI Volleyball, "the best volleyball club in Norway" as they humbly state on their homepage.
It is great fun! I play on H2B, which when decrypted tells you that I play for the Men's Second team in the Second division.
I've decided to prioritize volleyball this season, above other outside school activities. I don't regret a bit! The team mates are great and it's fun to see how we progress as individual players, and as a team. I learn a lot at every practice.
The NTNUI Volleyball club is quite big with its 8 ladies teams and 5 men teams. This makes the atmosphere very good and the "Julebord", coming November 12th will be a huge event! Almost everyone on H2B will attend!
By joining the NTNUI Volleyball club I've met a lot of cool new people and I've taken a refereeing class, making me a Referee 1 Trainee. It'll be fun to see how my refereeing and playing career evolves!
Choosing volleyball as my outside-school-passion was a very good choice!
